Amber Scarborough
Amber began her financial services career in 2007 in Austin, TX as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones. During her time at there, she had the opportunity to work on the leadership team for the Austin region allowing her to learn from and collaborate with many other leaders in the area.
Amber has always had an appreciation of learning, so she began offering educational sessions to her clients. She found herself seeking to add value to her client’s lives in more ways than simply offering suitable asset allocation and mutual fund recommendations. Amber found that through her drive for knowledge and continuing education, she could help educate her clients and they could make informed financial decisions. The Maya Angelou’s saying “when I knew better, I did better” really became a center point of her client meetings.
In 2011, Amber was presented with an opportunity to move her business in a different direction – Independent with LPL Financial. Amber offers her clients access to a wide range of non-proprietary products and services – without the obligation to sell any particular investment or brand—keeping her focus solely on the wealth management, legacy planning, and the education of her clients.
Amber graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science with every intention of coaching high school girls’ basketball. She feels that although it’s not high school and there’s no basketball involved, her career path has definitely benefited from her desire to coach.
“My job as a Financial Advisor is to help people pursue their financial goals – This may involve being defensive at times and offensive at others. It also requires strategic planning and coaching my clients to make suitable financial decisions.”
Amber holds a Series 7 and Series 66 registrations with LPL Financial, as well as a Texas Life, Accident, Health, and HMO license. In addition, she is also an Accredited Asset Manager Specialist (AAMS).
Amber, her partner Robbie, and their son Omar, work, live, and play in South Austin. In their leisure time, they enjoy all the wonderful adventures that Austin and the Hill Country have to offer.
